On Friday, March 26th, Governor Charlie Baker signed a new climate bill into law. The official name of the law is “An Act Creating A Next Generation Roadmap for Massachusetts Climate Policy”. Kind of a mouthful. This new law aims to tackle a wide range of challenges and sets goals for the state to reach. It continues the trend of Massachusetts being one of the most progressive states when it comes to climate action.

Amazon announced five new renewable energy projects in China, Australia and the U.S. that further support Amazon’s commitment to reach 80% renewable energy by 2024 and 100% renewable energy by 2030 (and potentially as early as 2025), as well as to reach net zero carbon by 2040.

Amazon unveiled a gauntlet of new climate initiatives today, including 80% renewables by 2024, zero emissions by 2040, a fleet of 100,000 electric vans and a $100 million investment in reforestation measures.
